Using the Arts and Visual Technology in Worship
June 16-20, 2008 (Monday 1-5 p.m., daily 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
Visual arts, popular music, and film can enhance and enliven the worship experience for all. The group watched films and discussed them, went to area art museums to view and discuss works of art, and listened to popular music. Participants learned to "see" and "hear" biblical themes and theology that emerge from these media. There were discussions about the theological and technical issues for using this material in worship, gaining congregational acceptance for using screens and visual media, training media worship teams, and addressing copyright law in worship. ...more information
